Your instructor will be able to use their years of experience to create custom practice routines with progressive benchmarks, based on your personal goals and abilities. You'll always know what to practice, how to practice, how much time it will take, and you will be able to see real time results of your effort.
From the very first lesson, you'll focus on the music that you care about and the skills that you want to have. If you're not quite sure about those details, your instructor can help you find your unique style.
The complexities of music theory and advanced abilities are stealthily incorporated into all lessons. You will be learning all the "trade secrets" of the pros while you focus on having fun with your normal progress. No overwhelming book study barriers to overcome. Just jam and grow as a musician.

It's definitely something that you want to get, soon. Don't worry, we'll help you find deals on quality instruments so you don't have to go pawning any rings, tools, or pets. In the meantime, we have rental gear available for less than a meal a day.
We can teach you whatever style you want to learn with varying degrees of proficiency. Current high level lessons exist for Pop, Rock, Metal, Classical, Funk, Fingerstyle Acoustic, Flatpicking, and more.
Guitar, in my opinion, is one of the toughest instruments to start on contrary to what you might have heard. This is because not only do you need to learn complex shapes and patterns and coordinate the hands, but there is a level of (slight) pain involved when starting out. No worries! I've helped young children and even adults with prior injuries to their wrists to overcome this issue.
While we can certainly include elements of song-writing in your guitar lessons, it's much better to add on a songwriting lesson here and there to focus on it in addition to your guitar. Once you get to a certain level of skill, however, freedom in the lesson grows and songwriting can become a more common feature.
I'm going to give you a different answer than you've probably heard before, because while we do hold degrees in music and professional performance experience, I've seen too many amazing musicians with amazing accolades who were just not great at teaching. It takes a whole separate set of skills to be an effective teacher. In fact, my first job as a music teacher was just after junior college and I remember being amazed at how little the head instructor/owner of the school knew about music! However, I can't say that I was the best teacher, despite my knowledge. Years of experience have made me the teacher I am today. So while music education is very important to us, the quality of instruction is paramount.
