Absolutely! Having been through the college experience for music, we can prepare your new student for what is essential to those first couple of years going in. We can cover music theory as well as what to expect from their college experience and performance preparations.

I'm going to give you a different answer than you've probably heard before, because while we do hold degrees in music I've seen too many amazing musicians with amazing accolades who were just not great at teaching. It takes a whole separate set of skills to be an effective teacher. In fact, my first job as a music teacher was just after junior college and I remember being amazed at how little the head instructor/owner of the school knew about music! However, I can't say that I was the best teacher, despite my knowledge. Years of experience have made me the teacher I am today. So while music education is very important to us, the quality of instruction is paramount.
