No matter your learning style, Green Key Music specializes in identifying strengths and not-so-strong strengths and customizing lessons to capitalize on what is most effective for each individual student. Our unique approach to home practice coaching keeps more students engaged in self-motivated learning than any other methods you will find out there.
If there is a specific song you want to learn, you can learn it. We can simplify anything that's too far beyond your level to make it achievable. If your interests in music are light on piano, we can transcribe music in-house and you can rest assured that there will be a piano version made available.
You will learn more than you even realize through our integration of Music Theory into your every day lessons. Everything is kept bite sized and within the realm of your current understanding. Work smarter, not harder!

It's definitely something that you want to get, soon. Don't worry, we'll help you find deals on quality instruments so you don't have to go pawning any rings, tools, or pets. In the meantime, we have rental gear available for less than a meal a day.
We can teach you whatever style you want to learn with varying degrees of proficiency. Current high level lessons exist for Classical and Pop.
Every instrument has its' challenges, but if we're talking about making your first sounds quickly and having a layout that is pretty logical, piano is fairly easy. I would say easy to learn, difficult to master.
While we can certainly include elements of song-writing in your piano lessons, it's much better to add on a songwriting lesson here and there to focus on it in addition to your Piano. Once you get to a certain level of skill, however, freedom in the lesson grows and songwriting can become a more common feature.
I'm going to give you a different answer than you've probably heard before, because while we do hold degrees in music I've seen too many amazing musicians with amazing accolades who were just not great at teaching. It takes a whole separate set of skills to be an effective teacher. In fact, my first job as a music teacher was just after junior college and I remember being amazed at how little the head instructor/owner of the school knew about music! However, I can't say that I was the best teacher, despite my knowledge. Years of experience have made me the teacher I am today. So while music education is very important to us, the quality of instruction is paramount.
